Elkins Truck Fire
Last night around 8pm I was driving down HWY 16 ten miles south of Durham when I saw this truck on fire. The driver was in his early 20s and was very upset. He was standing in the road waving at me. At first the flames were fairly small. He warned me about his guns and ammo in the truck.Over the next 2 or 3 minutes the fire spread to the gas tank. At that point the flames grew rapidly causing the rounds to go off and one of the tires popped.


It took about 12 minutes for the Elkins Fire Dept to arrive, and less than 2 minutes to extinguish the flames. No injuries were reported.Here is a short video of the flames:

Duuude . . . looks like you really know how to party. Glad you didn't blow up trying to be a Good Samaritan!
